What B2B marketing really costs
Many small and mid-sized B2B companies don’t have one marketing budget. They have a stack of separate bills: an email platform, a scheduling tool, design and video software, analytics, and a few freelancers for writing, design, social media and email. Each one seems small. Added together, they can cost as much as a managed partner or more, and someone still has to coordinate them.
How much does outsourced B2B marketing cost?
Witmer Group’s managed marketing execution plans are $1,500, $2,000 and $2,500 a month. For comparison, the starting example in this calculator, five common marketing tools plus a part-time writer, designer, social media help and email help, comes to about $2,600 a month. Your numbers will differ, which is why the calculator lets you enter your own.
What is managed marketing execution?
Managed marketing execution means one partner plans and produces your ongoing marketing, such as content, design, social media and email, under one monthly plan. Instead of hiring, briefing and reviewing several freelancers and paying for the tools to support them, you work with one team and one point of contact.
How much time does managing marketing vendors take?
Briefing freelancers, reviewing drafts, chasing deadlines and keeping tools running all take time, usually from owners and sales leaders whose hours are worth $120 to $500 or more. Five hours a week is about 22 hours a month. The calculator assumes about one hour a week is still spent working with a managed partner, and shows the value of the rest.
How this calculator works
It adds up the monthly tool and people costs you enter, compares the total with the plan you choose, and estimates the time you’d get back using the hourly value you set. CRM costs aren’t included, because most companies keep their own CRM when they work with a partner. All results are estimates.
